It was a Summer Series that started out uninteresting but got extremely competitive. In the end, Scott’s 3-0 Series lead proved insurmountable for Rob, as Scott fought back from a 3-0 deficit in Series VI and claimed his fifth Summer Series championship.

Scott looked to cruise to an easy victory in the Summer Series by winning the first three matchups, 4-2, 4-3, and 4-1. Rob fought back gamely by sweeping Scott in Series IV and V and even cruised to a 3-0 game lead in Series VI. Showing championship mettle, Scott avoided a decisive Series VII by putting together an amazing comeback that resulted in a 12-10 victory in Game 7.

Rob and Scott headed indoors due to the chilly mid-November temperatures for Series VI of the 2007 Summer Series. Tri County High School would be the setting as Rob swept Scott, 4-0, to take home the RP Sports Summer Series trophy.

The win was a fitting end to an emotional Summer Series. Rob and Scott’s last meeting took place on October 17, when Rob defeated Scott in Series V, 4 games to 3, the same evening that Rob’s father passed away.

Rob fell behind 2-1 in this year’s Summer Series before staging an impressive comeback, shutting down Scott’s offense and rolling to three consecutive victories in Series IV, V, and VI.

Scott used his size in Series 2, by draining several two-point shots over Rob’s outstretched arms. Using the energy of his raucous “super fan,” Lou, Scott finished off Rob in grand fashion by calling his final shot, a fade-away from downtown, to finish off Rob, 4 games to 2.

Rob would respond in Series 3, as he finally found his own two-point shot, and used it to race off to a 3 games to 1 lead, before polishing off Scott in Game 6.

Scott built an early 3-0 lead, and staved off Rob’s late run to clinch Series I. Scott’s 4-2 victory was the same result as last year’s opening series.

Scott kicked off the 2007 Summer Series with several short jumpers and continued to build his momentum by getting hot behind the two-point arc. Rob looked dejected and out of gas, soon finding himself in a 3-0 hole. He would win the next two games, but following a Summer Series first-ever replay time out to determine the correct score, it was only a matter of time before Scott closed out the series.
